dave, my friend, you sound hot-headed. I think you're a great asset to the atelier, but is there any way I can get you to tone your enthusiasm down a bit? Post 312 in the American politics thread at the atelier, you accused mofolo of being a troll and you seemed very wrought up, in a very short space of debate.

Regardless of who I agree or disagree with, and regardless of whose rhetorical style I prefer, I am the hostess at the atelier, and I have to maintain decorum in an impartial manner. You accelerate into anger so abruptly that other salonistas are taken aback.

And so I'm reluctantly forced to ask you to please stop flinging the tea-tray across the room when you think you have been insulted by an improper reply. If I think you are ever being spoken to rudely I will be the first to speak in your defense.

Sorry Lil, I guess I'm just not suited to debate. I honestly beleive that Evil Roy was trolling, and I beleive that Mofolo's comment was provocative as well.

Look, I honestly feel very strongly about these issues. 1st, when Evil Roy tells me I don't know cr*p about scientific computing, I take offense. Then when he tells me I can't keep track of the argument, I got even madder.

I don't care how many smileys or just kidding or jokes Mofolo couches it in, it's still the same insult. Insisting that jewish eating laws are the same as female repression? That's garbage. You know, I agreed with MR about the other Mosaic laws ... but do you think anyone could admit they were wrong about the food laws? H*ll no. They just try to retroactively change what they said.

That's my side of the story. And I do get pissed off when people change their line, or insist I'm being dense. So I'll gladly resign from debating in the atelier - it will save me the stress, and everyone elses feelings as well.
