I just realised that my link was wrong...I was looking at the $125K house at 948....not the $69K one, i agree that the lower one is in a very poor state

Tiny URL links might be a good idea, then when the link goes dead when the home is sold it'll be a non-issue. I really didn't stop to consider that posting a link which contained an address might be a problem later- but I'm certain if I did buy that one, I could ask the mods to remove the link in light of it containing personal information. Some years ago I posted to a thread where I shared just a little more info than I was comfortable with- and they were happy to remove it for me when I yikesed it.
I don't mind something that needs *a little* bit of work or some minor updating, but something that needed a whole lot of rehabbing isn't a good option, not only because we'd need an additional loan to pay for it. I don't want to pay a mortgage and rent for a year or so waiting for major renovations- that'd wipe out all of our savings.
I don't envy me this, either. There's still a part of me that would just as soon keep renting indefinitely, if not forever.

OK, I looked at the one at 946. I agree that the condition of this home seems nice from the photos, so I'd guess the price difference might be partly because the other one (the one we looked at) has the finished basement and the additional room in the back. Also perhaps because it has more bathrooms. Another reason they might be asking more- we saw the listing history when we met with our realtor and when the current owner bought the home, they paid just under $400K. They're probably asking more so they don't lose out as much.

There really is no consistency, is there?
If they put me on premod for requesting that they remove a link from a posting, then I guess I'd either live with it or take a break for a while. If someone did it all the time, I can see taking measures, but for a single exercise of poor judgment, that'd be a bit harsh, IMO. I'll make sure I don't try it over a weekend.
