What IS it with me and bizarre accidents?

Last evening, I injured myself yet again.
And after such a lovely day, with a five-mile walk and lovely pasta puttanesca for dinner...
I was sitting at the computer and Herman had been in his litter box, an apparently he bumped the door to the room and made it swing slightly closed, rather than against the wall per usual.
Of course, I have this weird "thing" where if you move anything out of place, I'll walk right into it. Every time.
So, when I swivelled the chair around to speak with K, I jammed my left foot really hard against the corner of the door, breaking the two little toes and ripping off a toenail in the process. I spent the next half hour curled up on the couch, holding a towel full of ice on my foot and crying like a big baby.
I've got them taped up so they heal properly, and a band-aid on the raw spot. But do they ever hurt like HELL.
On a happier note, my Doctor Who series 2 and 3 DVDs arrived today, so I have an excuse to lie on the couch and play invalid. Fortunately we have a long weekend coming up, and likely a short day Friday, because I can't manage any sick time off work this week (end of month and I've got to enter a bunch of last-minute crap to close the files).

oh I'd better get on with what I have to do!

Thanks, everyone. The well wishes have made it feel better already.
I must stop being so accident prone, though. Either that or hire a stunt double.

Oh, imagine the horror if my typing fingers were broken! I'd wind up useless at work without the ability to fart around in any of my favorite ways.
Plus I need my hands available for slapping people and making rude gestures at them when needed.

Oh, I hope the laundry basket doesn't have especially sharp or ragged corners.
I guess that means you're accident prone, too, Mala?

You learn to cope. I still click the mouse with my middle finger from having broken the joint capsule in my right index finger.

Problem is, sitting still is dangerous too. Ever see Stranger Than Fiction, when the character tries to stay home and do nothing?

Can't say I have. I've been too busy staying home doing nothing. Is there something I should know?

A bulldozer (in an apparent apartment mix-up) starts demolishing his place.

Does he end up lying in the mud, in a dressing gown, in front of the bulldozer?

Hahahahahahaha! Hadn't thought of that. Nope, different fantasy.

....and PC seems to be living in my life.
I'm usually the terribly accident prone .... so with that PC - you can keep my life for as long as you like - and speedy recovery.
