(Wonders if there is a difference between leaving something out, and refrigerating and *then* leaving out, with many foods? I've always heard that about eggs- if they have *not* been refrigerated, you don't even need to, but if they have been you need to keep them that way)
The temp inside the fridge this morning was over 70°F.
Some parts of the power outage have been interesting, though. For one things, it's amazing the things you hear when you don't have the fridge and a/c humming. For another, it was nice just lounging on the couch in a t-shirt and drawers while K read to me, instead of our usual movie.

I'm trying to be less pessimistic about things I can do absolutely nothing about, and keep a little different perspective on things.
Last night, when I went to bed and found myself having trouble falling asleep because I was uncomfortable, I imagined I was on vacation in a tropical paradise. It helped. The generator from a house across the alley reminded me of a huge swarm of mosquitos, and the locusts were buzzing away, so it wasn't hard to pretend.
