Hi!
I have a few I've read fairly recently. Not sure if they're what you're in the mood for, but I enjoyed them.
"The Stuff Of Legend". I've read only Book One: The Dark thus far.
In 1944 Brooklyn, the Boogeyman and his minions (toys which have "gone over to the dark side") kidnap a little boy from his room. The boy's toys go into The Dark to rescue him. The artwork isn't colorful- it's sepia- but very well drawn. It's definitely not intended for young kids- more the dark fairy tale type thing for adults.
"The Nightly News". A revolutionary cult aims to restore integrity and accuracy to journalistic reporting- by executing sensationalist reporters. I thought it was really cool. This one is actually a few years old.
"Grandville". Steampunk murder mystery with anthropomorphic animal characters. I loved it, story line and artwork.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
