Hey there. Hope your doctor visit went well and that you're not too sore where the moles came off.
I'm so glad it's finally Friday. Not too much work today, most of the people who'd pester me about such things as copiers out of toner/needing documents printed, copied, and bound/etc. are out of the office today. And my better half's playing, with one of his two bands, a gig this evening- a nice early show as well!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Hope the gig goes well, we're rehearsing on Sunday & hoping to get Croz along to take some photos for publicity Last time we tried, the clutch went on my car and I ended up calling the breakdown service from the supermarket car park, dressed in a tracksuit, but with full stage make-up on I looked a real sight
The shoulder & leg are fine, not too sore at all

What kind of stuff do you perform?
What's really funny is that his *other* band normally practices on Friday nights, luckily this week one of the guitarists and the singer are out of town so practice was called off anyway, but next week he's going to have to manage practice with one band and a gig with the second, using the same equipment!
I can imagine that whomever came from the emergency car service that time has seen stranger things than you in stage makeup.
Hope everything works out for Sunday, including having Croz along for the photo shoot.

We work in cabaret, usually in working men's clubs, we do a variety of songs by artists such as Cher, Tina Turner, Stereophonics, Heart, Queen, Status Quo, Robert Plant, Ozzy Osbourne & the Pretenders, soft rock I suppose is the best description. It goes down OK
It's funny, the breakdown service I use have an advert running on UK television at the moment, featuring the variety of people they have rescued, including ventriloquists who've locked their dumies in the boot of the car, nudists, little boys who've locked themselves in the car etc
We're keeping our fingers crossed too!
Have a good time

I had a good time, thanks! They sounded great, and played a brand new song even I hadn't heard yet, which they've only rehearsed three times. It was really !
Your cabaret show sounds awesome, wish I could see it! Break a leg tomorrow!!

We had a terrible rehearsal The battery in my radio mic ran out, we forgot the bag with the short leads in so I had to borrow some from Bill & they're that long that I was getting a distinct power loss and we played 5 tracks before I realised we'd not switched the recorder on . To add insult to injury my throat feels like I've been gargling with barbed wire. Still better now than at a gig
Back to w**k tomorrow and as I was off on Friday there's bound to be a load of emails & voice-mails to sort out before I can start. Roll on lunch time
Glad your bf's gig went well what type of music do they play?

Oh, sorry to hear rehearsal went badly, BUT, yes, it is good that it didn't happen at an actual gig!
The badn which played Friday night was Tuffy UK ( www.tuffyuk.com ), and they play what he calls "power pop", although they kinda rock a wee bit. You can download a couple of tracks at the web site. His other band, the Geezers ( http://www.thegeezers.net/geezers.htm ) play punk. They're entire most recent album, "Freeburn", which was released this past spring, is available for download at the web site. Feel free to check either of them out, if they sound like they'd be of interest. If you wind up liking either of them, I've plenty of complimentary CDs to share.
I can totally relate to going back to work and finding a huge backlog of work. I'm dreading what it will be like the Monday after Thanksgiving (I get the Thursday and Friday off and will come back to four days' worth of incoming mail), and same for the Tuesday after Xmas and New Years', when we get the Monday off. But I guess it's worth it, for the day off...
Hopefully you won't have too much trouble getting caught up and won't have too insane of a day. I'm assuming you're in the UK, in which case it's past 10:00 and not too early for me to wish you a good night. Sleep well!

Oh, and though he's hard to see in any photos, my better half is the handsome and talented drummer.
With that, I bid you good night. I need to go pull my cranberry-orange muffins out of the oven.
