h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

As I have already said, Hello Jo and welcome to this The Guide.

I, Ekki, am an ACE which stands for Assistant Community Editor. We can be found in a great many places (easily identifiable due to the ACE tag after our names and the spangly gold badges on our user pages) but there is a list of us at http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/classic/Aces and we're here to hold your hands while you find your feet in what could be a vaguely perplexing place.

As I implied above, we will try and answer any questions you may have with regard to this place. You can either click on my name above to leave a message at my home page, reply to this with any questions or indeed ask the community at large at http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/classic/AskH2G2 ... whether the answer you get is the answer you are looking for is anybodies guess!

There is no right way and wrong way of using this unfeasibly amazing guide. You can write articles and see what people think or you can simply lurk around until you feel you've got something to add. The minute you say anything people will come and see who you are (we're nosy like that) ...

None of us bite (except the monsters but they're just trying to be friendly) and all of us are here for the same reason ... it is supposed to be fun so the main thing is to enjoy. It does become vaguely addictive - I warn you ... mustn't let real life interfere!

As I said, any questions you may have just raise a paw anywhere and someone will answer, whether it's finding out how to entertain your kiddies or the different ways of hugging, the answer is out there, somewhere ... anywhere!

Just while I think about it, if you want to spice up your entries then type people are abounding at the smiley web page. Click on any of them and you will be taken to the menu where you can pick and choose ... you can even propose new smileys ...
