Hi Admiral,
I thought I'd come and visit you at your personal space since you've been to visit mine.
It's nice of you to come and talk to me and I'll be delighted to chat with you if you want. Can we move our conversation over here though please? Azahar and I have had a two way conversation on that thread for a while and if you join in we're not sure which one of us you are talking to. If you want to talk to az feel free to start a conversation on her page too.
We don't want to hurt your feelings or put you off talking to either of us - we'd just prefer to keep that conversation two way if possible.
While I'm here I have to say I like your personal space. I should get around to working on mine - it's a bit minimalist at the moment. 'East of Newcastle upon Tyne' doesn't leave much space before you reach the North Sea. Unless you live on a DFDS ferry perhaps. We've been to the Metro Centre a few times but my wife prefers to go to Eldon Square and Lewis's - the Metro Centre gets a bit busy.

Thats why should park the 'worst car you have' ie, the car with tires you feel less attached to, in Gateshead Car Park and get the X66 to the Metrocentre. It uses a special bus lane that sneaks around the back of the metrocentre.
So where do you live then?

The problem with parking further away is it leaves you with a struggle with the shopping. And I don't like buses much, although the train might be worth considering. Not much good though when you come out of IKEA with two double wardrobes and a dining room table and chairs. The best bet would be to own your own bus; then you could use the sneaky bus lane and have plenty of room for the flatpack furniture.
As for where I live - that would be telling. I'm trying to maintain an air of mystery here. Let's just say I've been to the 'toon' a few times.

Well you've intreged me now, it must be closer than Sunderland and Carsile becasue they have there own Ikea stores. Hexham has it's own furnature shop....
*does quick calculations*
I've narrowed it down to the Lake District or Northumberland!!!
Aren't taxi's aloud to used bus lanes now, could'nt you just bribe a driver to take a bus route then leg it when the police start chasing you with your Pine cupboard!!!

I don't know about you but I doubt I could run far or very fast while carrying a bunch of flatpack storage units.

Well if you're going to break the law you might as well steal a trolley. However the problem arrises trying to get the trolloey into the taxi, they should invent easy-erectable flat pack trolleys!!!

You can see it now, a riot in Balydon where everyone's carrying cupboards doors and pushing trolleys away from/into police!!!

That happens every Saturday.
They were going to build a new IKEA in Berwick. All the building materials arrived but no-one could understand the instructions...
Sunshine here today, if a little windy, how about you?

Same, not a cloud in the sky, quite chilly though. I've recently bought a kitchen from MFI, it arrived in 57 flax boxes and I thought "What am I supposed to do with this?", I'm going to have to bribe a few friends to take a day off work to help me sought it out!!!

I'd offer to come and help but my wife already has me scheduled to do some redecorating at home.
The flat packs are easy. Get a professional to do the worktop and if you have a gas hob arrange for the CORGI reg. fitter to turn up on the same day because they'll have to work together.
Good luck with it.

I've built two cupboards myself, and it did'nt fall apart which is good news. The draws tend to slide themselves in if there not opened proply which probabily isn't supposed to happen. I've got some big stropping lads from the pub to give me hand, they work for tea and biscuits which is nice!!!
Good look with the redecorating, believe me picking the colour is the hardest part, wether to go for ocean turquise or turtle green is often difficult!!!

Hi,
Modern drawers are often arranged to be self-closing so it could be part of the design. Well done with the cupboard building.
I've decided to go for a pale yellow colour similar to, say, lager so I'm collecting some samples.

Hiya,
I've gone for Sunnydale lane in my kitchen, that's bright yellow to you and me. I've just put my new fridge in, I think it's powered by a jet-engine you can hear anywhere in the house!!!
