hi manda
re... posting 11
i too had to suffer the agonies of swede being mashed into the potatoes to make sure we ate it all
it was a real effort to eat it and i hated very meal we had to endure, but as kids......
you suffer.
now...... i love swede.
but not mashed into the potatoes. i love it in stews.
its taken many years before i would even consider eating it as, like you, it bought bad bad memeories...
ever thought of serving your mash in a little side dish instead of missing out on the actual meal..
and as far as im concerned, roasties should be nice golden to brown colour.. not pale.
and meat shouldnt have any blood running after cooking. now that is disgusting

Hi serenity
I Don't think I will bother with the mash in a bowl, I realy like my roasters, and sometime I will have moodles or pasta instead, so I don't realy miss them,
It is only in the last few months that I have tried it in stew, and its not to bad,
I love raw swede , run under the cold tap with a little salt on it, thats great. I like most veg raw, every year I buy loads of peas in there pods, every time I go past a veg shop I but some, and I have never cooked a fresh pea in my live, I will stand in the srteet shelling them and eating them, Mrs manda goes mad at me for doing that, but I take no notice, they have got to be my all time favorite food.
BTW, When was you 50, I was 50 in march

belated birthday greetings
mine was in april. so you are older than me
im not a 'pea' person. i used to eat more than went in the pot when i was a child as it was our job to shell them.
but now that i have a tooth missing, it attracts peas and i hate having to fish them out.
if i was to eat any peas, they would be the frozen garden variety.
i cant stand mushy/marrowfat/processed peas, the smell is enough to make me
ideally, i wouldnt eat another pea.... ever..

We normaly land up with the frozen garden variety as well. mushy/marrowfat/processed peas are not my first chose for veg, but we do have them sometimes,
I used to proffer not to eat most veg as a kid, but now I realy like most of it, funny how our tastes change
Hi Intern
yes I have mate, I squirt a little on each joint, and I am mobile in less than 3 hours

thanks for the offer of bourbon to spice up my , but i think i will pass on that one.
i would end up spending most of the day in the bathroom
yes, our taste buds change..
i have lost my sweet tooth and end up with toothache after eating anything with icing.
my only failing is lemon meringue pie
there are things i used to love to eat and i cant face them now. i used to love black pudding and tinned salmon... not on the same menu, i hasten to add
