I'll give you a hand if you like.
How did you find out about this place?

Aha, so who's your big sister then?
First off, what kinds of things are you interested in?

No problem, I understand.
Well, there are two main things that you can do on h2g2, and that is to write articles (called 'entries') or to take part in the discussions.
A good place to join in with discussions is <./>askh2g2</.>, which is a forum where anyone can ask questions about anything.
If you're interested in writing for the guide, there's lots of information at <./>Contribute</.>.

That's okay.
I'm interested to know, what have you heard about the site and what do you think of it? Is it easy to navigate?

Well, you could always write about the place or area where you live, or any other thing you know a bit about.
But you don't have to just write, you can also take part in the many conversations. There's a list on the front page of the busiest ones...
