My name is Plato and I'm one of the ACEs (assistant community editors) here on h2g2... It's our to welcome you guys and show you around the site!
Firstly, it is very important that you write an introduction.... that way people can leave you messages on your personal space! I see Dave-M already has, and it's a good one! Also, to talk to someone else, just leave them a message on their homepage, and they should find it.
The titlebar above the message (mine says welcome) can say whatever you wish and doesn't have to have any relevance to what's written in this box! if you want some smileys, click on this one, or any other, and it will take you to the smiley page...

I find the best way to learn about this site is just to dive right in and check it all out... there is so much to do! Also, you can click on preferences and change your style from alabaster to classic goo... thats always fun...
