Hello KittyKAT! Thanks for the warm welcome. I am brand new as of the wee hours of Sunday morning, so I'm just beginning to figure things out. Should I have posted a reply attached to your message in my space? I suppose it really doesn't matter. Can you somehow bookmark the pages of people you talk to a lot? Thanks for any advice you can give.

By the way, I am in full agreement on the uses and abuses of the natural world. We are the only animals able (and willing) to manipulate our environment in such drastic ways. So many people have so little idea of how long it takes a tree to mature. Nor do they really care. In their world view, all this stuff was put here to use, so by golly, it's gonna get used! The cutting of the trees is bad enough, but on YOUR land?! Yikes!

I'm not so sure about Divine Providence, however. Yes, we have many choices but many times things happen which are beyond our control. Did I really need to get involved in a bad car accident to learn patience? Heck no! Life would have eventually taught me that (if I was willing to learn).

Hi Reika, Lovely to hear from you! I think you'll find a lot to do on this site and most folks seem very nice and unusually smart. I just joined about two weeks ago so I'm learning as I'm go. Thanks for the pep talk! Boy, can't e-life be so confusing sometimes?! At least it's a good kind of confusing.....we are learning something! Nope, I haven't discovered smilies other than the one I already know I'll pick it up as I go, I suspect.

I am from Buffalo, New York, originally. I currently reside in the Southwest....in an environment that's as different as it gets from the one I knew. I miss the lovely greenness of New York but I certainly don't miss snow! I absolutely hate winter!

For right now I won't be able to post consistently as I work full time and I am going to school to earn my bachelor's degree (English major for those who want to know). But I will check in from time to time just to see what's up!
