h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Welcome to h2g2, Spacemuse!
I'm Neobrad and I'm one of the Aces. That's 'Assistant Community Editor'. It our job to help strengthen the h2g2 community by meeting and greeting new researchers and help them get into the community. We're a friendly bunch, so if you need any help just ask an ACE.
h2g2 is the guide to life, the universe and everything. We, the researchers, help build it by contributing Guide Entries - they can be about anything and everything. It's also an amazing community - there's thousands registered researchers! You can talk to someone by simply clicking 'Reply' or 'Discuss' at the bottom of a page and entering a forum.
Your U-page is accessed by clicking 'My Space'. It's your personal area. You can decorate it and add journal entries. It's your h2g2 hub! (Click my name at the top of this posting to have a look at mine.)
Entries are written using a special code 'GuideML'. This is a simple form of HTML that's easy to learn. You can use it to add links, change font styles, add pictures and more. To get started, head over to <./>GuideML-Clinic</.>, and go here: <./>GuideML-PictureLibrary</.> for pictures.
Smileys are common around here. We're lucky to have a huge selection of these li'l 'emoticons'. Just click a smiley to visit the Smiley page, where there's a list of all the smileys available. ------
Every Thursday evening (GMT) we are treated to a new edition of the <./>ThePost</.>. It's our weekly paper that has everything you could possibly ask for! Well, not really, but it is a brilliant bit o' the Guide. There's even a comic strip!
If you haven't taken the h2g2 tour, you should do so. Click here: <./>DontPanic-Tour</.> I also recommend subscribing to the <./>Announcements</.> page. It'll deliver the latest h2g2 news to your Space.
For help on writing for the guide, I suggest starting here: Writing-Beginners.
If you really want to get into h2g2 (And you should do!) then you should consider joining one of the <./>Volunteers</.> schemes.
If you feel a bit lonely on h2, then try <./>Askh2g2</.>, <./>Talk</.> or <./>Community-TalkingPoints</.>.

I've just had a quick read of your entry 'Dark Seasons of the Soul'. It was pretty good - I see you are using a bit GuideML. Have you done this kind of thing before? I can see you're going to fit in around here like a block of lego with, err, other blocks of lego.
