Poetry List Notice

Mornin' all.
I have a poetry list. IE: I send email to people in a specific group (BCC so it's safe), an in it is a poem. The poem is in MS Word format (.doc) and is either one I wrote on the spot, or just one I felt like sharing.

After I have some more people signed up (at 6, minimum of 20 25), I'll probably start a web page, and move the list to a discussion format, or move it into a forum of some kind, withthe list being just a nodification of new additions.

I'll have a site up with more information in a few days at http://homepage.mac.com/masterkew/poetrylist.html

It's 12:45am here for me, on Friday, 5/3. So I'd guess around Monday or Tuesday.

Anyone interested, post here. No need to post an email addy, that will be taken care of later.

-Marcus

A Word on Hitting Bottom

Welcome to depression
one of the ledges you stop at,
on your way to hitting bottom.

Welcome to apathy
a cruel sign of depression,
making suicide seem a waste of time.

Welcome to false joy
a sign that the edge is neer,
one more step and you drop like a rock.

Welcome to emptiness
a continuation of the fall down,
devoid of even apathy for emotion.

Welcome to realization
a sudden knowing that you want this,
the fight down was a choice you made.

Welcome to step one
a surrender of possessions and self,
inexperienced instinct takes the helm.

Welcome to step two
an unfinished phrase becomes your mantra,
'this is my life and it's ending...'

Welcome to step three
a second voice joins your mantra,
'...one minute at a time', finishing your line.

Welcome to the bottom
a beginning awaits you at the top,
and all you have to do is survive the climb.

Things

Lots of things get to me. But this one is the biggest: Conversations of an important nature, cut off for reasons of minor consequence. It would not bug me as much, if it hapened less often, but, alas, it does not.

In a world of small-talk, when will the important shings be said? The important Ideas go unheard, in exchange for talk about the weather. Are friends no more than a sounding board for white nose? If so, I should n't wonder that I feel so alone.

There are well over six billion humans on this planet. And al we seem to do is waster our lives with small talk.
