....that the razor you bought me all those years ago has finally been consigned to the bin. It gave me many years of service.

Hee hee. It really was years ago- when I first came to uni. You were heading to Tesco and I asked you to pick one up for me.

It's not important, it just amused me when I finally got rid of it. smiley - smiley

Hard to believe that was five years ago. I have to confess to having got a little bit nostalgic reading that journal thread of yours.

No. My twenties seemed to disappear very quickly. University...slept with lots of random women (present company excepted)...got a job...engaged...moved house...married. Scary.

Sounds familiar (although not nearly enough women in my case). I can't quite believe that I'm married, and changed my name and all that stuff. It all came as a bit of a shock. One of the best shocks ever, but a shock nonetheless.

I still can't believe you're a teacher. Then again, I can't believe I work in a prison. Funny how things work out, huh.

Really? Why? Is it the job itself or is it crappy politics?

Definitely the politics. It's depressing me.

That - and the paperwork - was the reason that I decided not to go for teaching. Having worked as an admin to a couple of ed departments (not schools, but education all the same), I watched teaches get shoved around and do so much work that wasn't teaching that I figured it was no industry for me. Oh, that and the inordinate amount of time teachers seems to spend marking and suchlike in their own time. i *like* my Sunday afternoons.

Any idea what you'd like to move into or haven't you got that far yet?

Something that wouldn't involve moving house would be best bet.
