Hi B, thought we'd better go on discussing scrabble here than in the PR thread.
To repeat what you said:
>>If you get a J and an X, then you play JAX (also legal) and try the same again. The whole strategy works on the basis that there are far fewer 'bad' tiles than there are 'good' ones.<<
Yes, but you have no idea how unlucky I am: you can bet there's never a free A available when I need one.
Apart from the fact that there are so many words I don't even know exist, which isn't helped by the fact that I'm not a native speaker.

You want to improve your Scrabble immensely without learning obtuse bingos and arcane rack management?
Get a list of the two- and three-letter words and memorise them. I would be inclined to go for the SOWPODS list on:

It might look arduous, but don't forget that you already know half of them. Print them out, highlight the ones you didn't know, cover and write out alphabetically. The 2-letters should take you a couple of hours; the 3-letters a long weekend.
I guarantee your scores will improve.

Thanks for the link.
The scrabble I'm playing online has several options:
SOWPOD, TWL dictionary (whatever that is) and Challenge - my least favourite.
To be honest, I don't really have the time to learn all those words by heart, but I'll mark the link in my favourites for future reference.
