Might have know you would be a tom leher fan....obviously a person of taste. Are you familiar with Lord Buckley? I can't seem to find an entry for him, so that may need to be my next project.

He was an american nightclub performer in the 30,40s and 50s who adopted an afro-american hipster jazz lingo for his impassioned story telling
for example his verison of Marc Antony's funeral oration in Shakespeare's ("Big Willie the Shake" as Buckley called him)Julius Caesar

He was a big influence on people like Lenny Bruce and Jonathan Winters. Ken Kesey once described him as "something that people pass under the table." George Harrison was a big fan and his song "Crackerbox Palace" is about Buckley's home in LA
