You reference the violent femmes briefly is their album any good I like the single Blister in the Sun but have not heard anything else of theirs. Just wondering while I was browsing. I've never met a Canadian I didn't like but I've only met 3 of them.

Hello Fredward! Thanks for stopping by. I have only until recently (when I wrote the quote for my space) remembered that I like the Violent Femmes. I have one CD by them and I spent a large part of my adolescent years listening to it. The CD is entitled "Add It Up" and it is at my parent's house right now, which partly explains why I forgot that I like the band.
They are a very good band, but "Blister in the Sun" is probably one of their best songs. Some of their stuff is a tad disturbing and some of it has a political vein to it. I recommend the song "Add it Up" if profanity doesn't offend you. "American Music" is pretty good and so is "Kiss Off." If I were to hear their stuff for the first time today, I'd probably be less of a fan, but they will always be a part of my teenage-angst past! Hope that helps!

MMmm I'm not sure I'll invest what little money I have on their cd then. Not that I'm bothered by profanity or political activism just I have a mistrust in music that was most liked during teens as I myself also have a good few cds that I left at home before coming to college. Mainly in the fear that students would outcast me for having such bad taste, when I got here I realised students really aren't that cool. I blame the movies for making me think this and just about everything else except for a few things left over which I blame on video games.
I'm a great believer in Teenage angst myself I'm sure it's all part of some masterplan to make us more prepared for adulthood (some might simplify to 'growing up'). I don't think I was really angst ridden enough though so I better go and do some catchup.
