I have loads of links to the ones you mentioned but I didnt want the Welcoming to seem to complicated.

Yep, you're right. I remember when I got welcomed to h2g2 back in January.... (I had been using h2g2 for a year and half before than and logged out and forgot my password and original log in name, plus I had changed email address so it was easier to just get a new name) ....the ACE who welcomed me helped me out with smileys and I was really pleased with myself when I did my first smiley! Another ACE Xian (who is already my friend on LD) helped me to first do my page in Guide ML and now I can do it myself. So now I have got the hang of h2g2 properly I am happy to help anyone do the same.

Thats the best thing about h2g2 every one helps every one els out

One thing our Abi might say is you haven't used named enteries.

So for the dont panic tour link don't put the 'A' number if you write <./ >dont panic-tour</.> without the spaces you get a link... <./>don't panic-tour</.>
same with smileys....<./>smileys</.>

As intern said links to the spicing up the homepage and feisors links are a must have

and a mentioning of <./ > askh2g2</.>...<./>askh2g2</.> is advisiable

its starting to look maybe you could mention contributing to the guide <./>contribute</.> or <./>ThePost</.>

I just tried to do the </.> thing and it aint working! I used to be able to do it, that was before I learned GuideML and now I cant do it again..

One other thing...for the links to work there has to be no spaces
so if you write dont panic tour it still comes out but as a false link so you put...

when doing a welcoming ot a post containing a lot of links, press the preview message button first and see if the links have come out properly then post it
