Folk Festival
Posted May 26, 2003
I just got back home from visiting the Folk Festival in Pittsburgh,Pennsylvania. I can't help but notice the striking similiarities in all the countries dances. As there are no genetic markers for race, as a whole the genetic variability in humans is less than in chimpanzees, and there is good evidence that all mitochondrial DNA had a single female source combined with a similiar picture for the Y chromosome, I am forced to conclude that there is some basis for concluding that the Bible may be largely truthful. You know the upside is that everone on the planet gets along, because God would be watching and not at all amused by paving over living persons, and the downside is that everyone gets along but goes nowhere after life is over. As far as I'm concerned, I see this planet as full of an intricate system of life, and planets like Mars home to a race of monkeys feverishly pounding their typewriter while God as the Copyeditor hovers nearby waiting to put the late edition to bed.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
