If you want to change your name to something more personalized than "Researcher 189745", you can do that by going to this link: <./>UserDetails</.>

Also, feel free to check out my list of places to visit around h2g2 at A579431 You might also want to take a look at The Post Page of Useful Links at A616718 (courtesy of h2g2's own online weekly newspaper, <./>ThePost</.&gtsmiley - winkeye.

P.S.: Can't see CNN doing anything like this. If they tried, I don't think it would be nearly as great as h2g2.

Thanx, Jeff. smiley - smiley
I posted an query to an other Ace, so if she replies I'll have two guides to the Guide. I'm already slightly in love with this place.

So, Washington State? I've been to Seattle, but that's many years ago. I'm a student, also. Math & physics. Norway.

I'll check out the SETI-thingie, and my name is personalized - as recommended. Of course I'll have to find a way to make my user number 42. It always warms my heart when people spontaneously says 42 when asked if they know the answer. smiley - zen

So long,
The Lone Deranger

Hi Lone Deranger (glad to have a name to call you now smiley - winkeye),

h2g2 does kind of have that "sticky" feel to it: before you know it, you'll be stuck here for longer than you expected and may develop an addiction to it smiley - online2long

As for your researcher number, I looked at it and couldn't figure out how to make it into 42. As a math student, I'm sure you'd be more likely to figure it out than me smiley - smiley If you need help figuring out, try leaving a message at A530560 , and Argon0 (U77080) will work on it for you.

Hello, again, Jeff.
I've noticed how most personal spaces are quite nice. You have a suggestion of where I should turn to get some inspiration and a little guidance?
(I've given the 42-thingie some thought, but haven't reached it yet. I'll get there, though.)

Hello,

If you're looking for inspiration for your personal space, I'd just recommend looking around in general. Just by clicking on peoples' names in conversations and in the "Who's Online" window, you can browse through a lot of personal spaces and see how other people use theirs (by doing this, you also run across a lot of the interesting people here on h2g2 smiley - biggrin).

Looking at your personal space, with the colors and special characters, it looks like you're already using GuideML--which is handy for making neat-looking pages. If you happen to see a feature on someone else's personal space, and you want to see the GuideML code they used, there's a way you can do this. Just go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/testuserpageXXXXXX and fill in their user number where the X's are.

For example, you can view the GuideML for your own personal space by going to http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/testuserpage189745
