If you sit on the fence does that mean you are totally conflict-avoidant?
The people here seem to be mostly harmless. I'm sure no-one will intimidate you.

i want to be conflict avoidant. i just want to sit here on the fence quietly with my flowers. but it's my first day here and someone's being mean to me already! what's going on? why can't i see what i wrote on my page?

Perhaps they thought you were someone else. There seems to be a lot of that round here.

Have you ever considered that you may just be a figment of your imagination (or even a pigment of your imageation)?

I've considered all sorts of things miss galumbits. i just never considered the possibility that i could join a bbc website and within six hours someone would hate me so much they'd want me completely silenced. where does such hate come from? how does someone get that twisted? i don't know. i wish i'd never come here.

Hi FBB! I hope you don't mind if I abbreviate like that, but it could get tiresome. That's one of the characteristics of this place. Everybody has a long nickname (stick any b******s you want onto it) then have a quick name for people to call them. Same with a subject. I'm Just Bob, or even JB. When the threads on the new Harry Potter film came out, HP became the regular abbreviation. Similarly LOTR for Lord of the Rings. Usually, you can get a meaning from the context.
I still feel like a newcomer, having been on for about 2 1/2 months, so feel free to come over and chat. You can also reach the Campsite through my Space (any Thread with 'Pitch' in the title) although I still don't know how to post h2g2 page links.

You can post h2 links by clicking in the URL bar and copying the shaded text, and pasting it into the conversation; or, now, you can just use the last few characters of the address (of an entry or Userspace, for example mine is U177893).

It's best only to use the bit that starts Fxxxxx, Axxxxx, or Uxxxxx because Jim Lynn warns us that it forces skin changes otherwise - not popular.
