I know this is remarkably arrogant and negative...
Wampus Posted Dec 27, 2002
My senior year of high school I was opinions editor of the school newspaper. That meant that I got stuff that people thought they could just whip together a few minutes before class. You wouldn't believe the stuff people thought was print-worthy.
I remember one time a guy wanted to do a movie review, but the movie he wanted to review came out two days after his deadline. I told him to do another movie, but he decided that he would do it anyway. So the end result was a movie review on a movie that wasn't out in theaters yet, that he hadn't seen yet.
Another time someone turned in something that was handwritten on the back of a piece of scratch paper, and was a very short (100 word) paragraph on how things had changed between him and his friends from freshman to senior year. After I did my impression of an angry editor, he meekly took it back and rewrote it, and I promptly rejected the rewrite, as it was utter fecal matter. And then the next week someone else turned in a handwritten article of similar length and the exact same theme.

We tried having "editing help" with our literary committee - didn't work. If the help wasn't *helpful*, the writers didn't want to follow our suggestions.

Guy w/A Brown Hat - Depends on which CD's you are willing to donate. I have plenty of short stories...although actually, I need to go through them all and do some updated editing...
Bah. Work.
Nice to see people agreeing with me. My frustration is eased. Although, once people find out that I am a writer it is always "Oh, do you need a proofreader?" (I have had about 50 offers as of today) "Oh, I want to write a book one day" (They could never do it, they aren't that interesting as people, and they haven't a clue how hard it is) and then the immortal "Oh, so am I" with which I then get shown a million bits of utter CRAP and have to tell them it is good because I hate hurting people's feelings...and I also kinda don't want to be bashed either It's like, I don't presume people will be interested in what I write...they *are* but that's from as little encouragement as possible from me. Why are the lowest talented people so forthcoming with their stuff?
Aaargh!!

What would you like, I'll see what I can get hold of .. they'll be copies without sleeve notes etc. but of course the music will still be the same.

If you could get me copies of the two Queen Adreena albums, I will send you a short story or two. Or whatever I can find in a folder...
If you drop me an email, we can exchange addresses...? That work for you?
Oh, and anyone else fancy doing this? I'm quite happy to exchange stories/poetry for CD's or books or something small and easily posted...

A beautiful, talented, witty, special English woman like yourself will be inundated with lewd and liscivious emails begging for personal 'attention'! Not to mention everyone other than me!
