Which reminds me - which poor bunch of saps didn't have the sense to enter a 'My Lovely Pony'-a-like and won this Euro-megabore?

I believe Turkey won it. I could be wrong though : had better things to do than actually watch the Eurovision song contest...

Figures. Most of western europe seems to have it down to a fine art to split their voting in such a way as to ensure that nobody west of Italy has to stage the wretched thing anymore.smiley - laugh

I actually think that Wogan is pretty ideally suited. I caught about five minutes of his performance on saturday and it is far more subtle and rude than most could get away with...

I noticed that Mark Lamarr didn't want to try and take Wogan on when he did Buzzcocks. Pity Lamarr didn''t exercise the same caution with Ron Mael, who shredded him...

Unlike Des O'Connor.

Bloody hell, the benefit of youth. Tom O'Connor was a particularly cr*p scoue 'comedian' and game show host.

oh, and on the subject of Wogan- have you seen "Terry and Gaby" on Channel Five?

Wogan manged to shock Ms Roslin this morning when, during some Russian music to celebrate Russian independence day, he made reference to a Russian woman "Miss Bakiabic, Anya Bakiabic"
