Sorry about the double post, the server seems a little slow.
Just a little 'Eubonics'! That's black-speak and in some US colleges they actually teach it! Waste of time and energy, either speak Swahili or English.

Oh we have that here too. Slightly different from black culture - includes Asian lads/girls too...sounds cool, but I do wonder whether they know how to speak properly...

Canada's a little different. We were the destination for the *Underground Railroad* that existed before and during the US civil war. As a result there is a lot less attitude from either side. We never had slaves and the only baggage we have is from British colonialism which is not such a big deal once removed. If anything, blacks here understand our attempt to have a culture separate from the US jugernaut. The most interesting thing I've heard about the difference was from a former Prime Minister of ours- the US is a cultural melting pot and Canada is a cultural mosaic.

Hmmm...dodgy attitude there Mister Cl. Slavery was a long time ago. Bristol was the original slave port of England...we have a black ghetto...but that doesn't mean to say multi-culturism isn't welcomed/in existance...

You may call me Mr. C, Emporer of the Known Universe but I digress.
I'm just talking about the movement in the US for compensation for slavery as per the Civil War settlement (an acre of land for all freed slaves with a donkey). That translates into hundreds of millions of dollars today and is part of the general feeling of hatred for whites due to slavery. I don't think the small parts played by Britain and the other colonies is of great concern. Plus CDN and UK attitudes towards non-whites are more relaxed and friendly than in most US states. No?

What a cr*p post that was. Had a think about it anyway. It's always struck me that Canadians aren't very offensive in their nature. Probably because you don't have that much history in terms of wars and stuff...it can get extremely racist over here. If you know anything about the c*cks that are the BNP. But even so, this country has more of a *right* (if you can call it that) to racism than the US. Somehow I think that some Americans don't realise their culture is only a few hundred years ago, and was founded under the idea of the *melting pot*...
Bah. What a bunch of nonsense it all is. It is PIGMENTATION. No place for racism in any place.

Oh, I think it's more that pigmentation. It's true that some ethnic groups seem to have some people who are better at some things. All it takes is an Asian to see that they produce more scientists, a Black person to see that they might produce more atheletes, or a Caucasian to see that they might produce more world leaders. The fact that these people come into existance for many more reasons than simple race doesn't seem to occur to people. It's all perception and fear.
I think Canada gets along simply because we are all from somewhere else ultimately. As the years go on it may become *us* and *them* but the mere size of the nation changes everything.

It's just stupid people really. I couldn't care less about some things that people get so het up about. I would just prefer to bumble along, and do what I want and be left alone...

Me too, it's just you start to understand when you go to a party or event and you are the only white face in a very large room! One of my old friends passed away a little while ago. He was black from South Africa and got out during the height of Apartheid. He always thought it was amusing that I was astonished that he was classified as *coloured* even though he was as black as anyone I knew.

You mean, like taking Double History GCSE and being the only girl in the class. Yeh, I get that a lot! I can't stand my own gender, and find myself in places chock full of people different to me. I also have an Indian friend, who I keep on forgetting is Indian...it *is* true. After a while, you forget people are pigmented differently!!

True, but there most of them probably wanted a *tug* (did I get that right?). In a room full of another race you get the feeling most of them would like you to go away...

Hey, wait a minute. How do you know I'm not Samoan and I think you are from Sri Lanka?

You are white, I am white. Default option is it not?

True but it's nice to see that it doesn't matter to either of us.
