Obviously!

Set is an alledgedly older name for Satan, or perhaps even an older entity. There was also a *Temple of Set* group set up...

Although my loyalties lie with Anton, and Anton only! Vastly intelligent (and devilishly attractive) individual.

Crowley was the poor excuse for
a writer, who took too many drugs and formed the basis for the hippie ethos in the 60's. Hobbies included rock climbing
and manipulating the gullible!

I'm not really into the whole *hooded robes/lets get together for midnight excursions* form of Satanism. It's a waste of time, not to mention moronic. It's a philosophy, it's a personal thing. Either you are, or you aren't. No two ways about it.

Very nice to meet you! This world needs more guides like this - no matter what or who dies, this information is readily available. Education is the most important thing in existance.

Crowley was little more than a drug induced hedonist. He didnt really come up with much more than the *do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law* and THAT he nicked from someone else...Anton LaVey was the founder of true Satanic philosophy. For one thing, he wasn't jacked up on some chemical substance 24/7. Satanism is a philosophy, not a spiritual guideline. LaVey undestood that what may be comfortable for one, may not be for another - so he didn't believe in dictating your life from a book, complete with nonsense rituals and *magick* spells. Crowley was a borderline fool, with a large reading list, a pile of cocaine and bad poetry skills. A character, and nothing more. If he changed your life, then fair enough. But if it takes a fool to change your life, you often end up playing the fool yourself...

So are you goingto discuss proper Satanism, without the mystical mubo-jumbo, or shall we continue arguing a man who has been long dead?

O.k. you don't see any worth in crowley's work. Fair enough. As for "But if it takes a fool to change your life, you often end up playing the fool yourself..." I have to argue that anyone can find insight in the words of a wiseman, but only a wiseman can see insight in the words of anyman. But I'm not here to argue with you. I realize that Satanism is a philosophy not a religion. All religions are based on a foundation of sound philosophical ideals. The public is finally realizing that inside the teachings of Buhdism are hidden simple truths that can be used by people of all faiths. i have to ask, from a non religious aspect, what is the driving force in your life? What is it that you strive for?

What is it that I strive for. Good question. Well it certainly isn't any great mystical revelation, thats for sure!! I don't really consider the future as of now (the follys of youth!)...I just strive for good company, good sex, and a little fun in stirring up the stupid plebs of this world (the highest of sports)...I was born a devil and will probably remain one until I die!! It's one of the reasons I was drawn to LaVey and his writings - they seemed to encapsulate all my instincts towards modern man...especially the way they can be manipulated. And trust me, they can. Ritual never held any fascination with me either. I guess it's nothing specific that I strive for...I mean there are the obvious things : like a house, a couple of kids, a good husband. But that the other side of life.

How about you? What is your goal in life (sounds like a school-thing)...and what area's of Satanism are you aware of?

Hey,
I hope this message finds you well...
I strive for control over my life. I want absolute power over my whole life. And I use everything I can to obtain that control. My knowledge of Satanism comes from "The Temple of Set" and other sources. I have not got around to studying Anton LaVey's works in more depth. But I have read a few things written about him by other people. Other than the Satanic Bible, what else has he written? Any suggestions as to what I should check out first? My other goal is the pursuit of knowledge. I already know I am smarter than the general public. But I want to know as much as I can. I have to say that unlike you, I do believe in maigick.

Hello!

This is certainly developing into something interesting. You do strike me as a lot of others do, but I'll hold my presumptions back until later.

Anton LaVey's entire catalogue is thus :
*The Satanic Bible
*The Satanic Rituals
*The Devils Notebook
*The Satanic Witch
*Satan Speaks!
And you might also want to read the two Blanche Barton books called *The Church of Satan* and *The Secret Life of a Satanist*...there is also ANOTHER book by a man called Gavin Baddely regarding the History of Satanism entitled *Lucifer Rising* which I have completely worn out my copy of.

I would reccommend both The Devils Notebook and the Satanic Bible for first readings...although from the perspective I believe you stand from, I think you may be sorely disappointed...

So you don't have complete control over your life? Maybe that is an issue you need to deal with outside of Satanism before you delve into the wicked realm...? There is meant to be a certain degree of fun to being
on the left hand path...or so I think anyway...but the pursuit for knowledge is a great and rewarding path...I've travelled it since the age of two, and I've always kicked ass in the intellectual area of life. (People really don't like it when they are shown up to be stupid and hypocritical, do they? It's always brought a smile to my face to play with the lower class of humanity.)

I do believe in magic honey, just not devils and demons and standing in a pentagram reciting bad poetry. I'll leave that to the pagans thankyou very much. I believe in the magic that is right in front of your eyes!! Being able to get whatever I want just by donning a little red lipstick and a skirt, and in contrast becoming invisible in the street by reversing the image. The power of simple will is an amazing thing too. But nothing out there will help you more, than yourself. Its like, why the hell do Christians pray?? Wouldn't the aeons spent on your knees under a statue be better spent actually going out and doing it yourself? The whole thing of being able to use reality to your advantage, thinking outside the bondage of what you are told. Now that is real magic. I've never had the ability to believe in anything like God, Satan as physical forces...I believe in the structure of their characters...but I see no way that what anyone believes about the supernatural is right...

Not that theatrics aren't fun!! It is a good focus of mind...but not for me...

And I wouldn't trust the *Temple of Set* as far as I could throw them. It was formed as a tantrum against Anton LaVey, aided by one of his daughters, because it was the only way (albeit annoying) she could rebel against Daddy...make sure you clear your mind of any belief system before you read Anton's work by the way. Otherwise you could end up being caught in an ignorant net.

But you seem like a smart guy, I'm sure you'll choose whats right for you...

Hey,
I need to clarify something. My only religious belief is this; I believe that some sort of being created all this. I believe that contrary to popular belief that creator doesn't give a s**t. I came to this conclusion on my own after years of thought. I believe the only person who has control over my life is me. I am my only savior and my only destroyer. I am God. I am Satan. I am selfish, and self absorbed. Everything I do is for my own reasons.

As for the mindless filth that populates this world. My approach is one of disdain. People are useless scum. It is up to the individual to prove me wrong. I have no respect for the common man. But, I have respect for those who deserve it.

I have never summoned a demon or stood in a pentagram. But I do have abilities that I choose to call magick. I can make things happen. For example, it is impossible for me to run out of money. When I am getting low on cash, and really want something or need something, people give me money or I get cash owed to me early. And weird coincidences happen between me thinking about something and it happening. It's not magic, it's just unexplainable.

I am unsure how to respond to your doubts as to whether I am one of them. But hey!

Bye 4 now!

That's more like it! I was wondering how hard I had to push to get a little life out of you. Before you were just coming across as a lily-livered Crowley goon. I now suggest you aquire a copy of LaVey's musings as soon as you can...

Although I am still slightly annoyed by the use of the *k* in magic...it's not necessary...to quote LaVey most sincerely, "Those who say they are magick, most certainly aren't"...but it's your choice...!!

Problem is with this subject, I can never be bothered to talk about it to great lengths once I have established I am talking to someone that isn't moronic. What else is there to say?? I'm a Satanist, you're a Satanist (obvious from the rant I prodded out of you), shall we have a Sunday get together? Pick a specific topic any topic, and I'll participate...

Until next time little partner...
