Wow - without meaning to trivialise it, how soap opera-esque! No wonder it's been taking you some time to get your head around that. I wouldn't know where to start.
Did you know he existed before?

in 1966 i was in the army, me and tonys mother had parted monts before( she must have been pregnant then), i joined the army in 17th jan, but at the end of jan we haddent started to train, so i was putting up targets in the butts on the rifle range for other units.
-
on the first of feb, i came back to have dinner and was told to go to the c and c, he said my lass was having a baby,i was being sent back home for two days,
-
it was the morning of the 1st of feb, tony was born hours before i got to the hospital. i had him in my arms with a bottle the same day.
-
the next day i went back, then a few weeks later i was discharged on comasionate grounds( mother was ill) so me and his mother planned after mother got better to get married or live together to start, but her father wanted us to be at the flat top floor, no way. big rbustup, and i had no say. later in 1966 i left home to manchester, stayed for 4 yrs, wasnt till i got home the first time i was told she had the baby taken off her, around the time i left home. couldnt find him files sealed, no info
-
now after 41 yrs he found me, she said im not the father, he seems happy to say i am. what a soap opera lol jim

That would be doing my head in! I really do hope that there's a positive outcome for all of you from this. I'm sure it will work out. You must be looking forward to getting to know your son. How exciting!
