h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I don't know if you've noticed, but many warring researchers keep up these kind of forums on their U page. It's a place where they can talk researcher-researcher, not cat-dog or, in this case, dog-mercenary. I think you need a bit of a heads-up, amigo. Check out the ACF or cat induction pages and read up on the laws of continuity. They are very simple rules to RP'ing on H2G2, and they apply, as I've noticed, to just about any RP. They include (this is what I can remember):

1. Nothing unkillable or invulnerable. Immortal is okay (take Ex-Rambling) but there has to be some way to harm you. Otherwise there's no point in fighting.

2. Nothing unblockable, or no final postings. For example, I could say *CV loads an H-bomb into his ship and bombs THE KID in all his identities, killing him without possibility of return* and you could do the same to me, but all that accomplishes is a bunch of dead people and a war that's over in no time.

3. No constant thread-jumping, and no kidnapping without permission. Ask someone on their upage if they will let you kidnapp them, and sometimes (believe it or not) they will say yes. Also, don't jump from thread to thread etc.. because it becomes very time-consuming to even follow the battle.

4. No attacking neutral places, or even treading on heavily-used neutral ground. It just makes people mad, and entries are created very easily. If you wanna fight, take it to your enemy.

5. Most importantly, don't hate the other side. it's a friendly war, and it's all about fun. That's why these laws are in place, so that we can keep having fun. Red Dog and Sea (the cat leader) are the best of friends. So don't get too wrapped up in your cause. You're not fighting to save canine kind forever, just to have fun, meet people, and kill time.

Oh, and another tip. Test the waters and don't just go rushing in headlong. See who is what where, when and why. Read backlog, that's what it's there for.

They are not my rules, Mr. Kid, they are the rules of every veteran of the Cat/Dog wars, and we hope that everybody follows them. Otherwise the battle threads just get bad and people start leaving. So please, don't ignore our structure, or we'll ignore you.

On a lighter note, if you ever want to stop by the hotel for a drink, go ahead.

Read 'em all, they help. Otherwise people just get really po'ed at you. And if you do disregard them, it's considered appropriate that your posting can be ignored, or that we can disregard the rules in dealing with you.

Did I ok the station-napping. As I see it, a breach of rules on one end deserves the same on the other, but if not I will call my security staff up to the secret back room for purposes of attack.

You have a point, but it just accelerates unpleasantness, bud. We got peace now between the 2 of you, let's keep it. He did offer appologies, and Njan accepted them, for the other thing. About the kidnapping,Y'know, he might have fun with it. Just ask him.
Besides, 2 wrongs don't make a right, they just make a fight.
