Definitely about time I dropped by, DrT!
I see I'm 'one of your people', which is nice. Missedm my apostrophe, though! The name is from something that Zaphod Beeblebrox says just as he's about to fall out of the marble nutrimatic cup above the planet Brontitall 'Holy Zarquon's singing fish!, Ford. I thought a name starting with a Z would be cooler than one starting with an H.
Bels does something similar to your table on his space and I know that Gnomon also keeps tally. I did look at the 'Is h2g2 too conservative' thread, and I've commented on it, so I must be subscribed to it, although I can't remember that particular comment. I do like Ben. She gave me her e-mail as my dad's ill and possibly dying in hospital and just being able to tell her my feelings is wonderful.
I'm wondering what you do for a living (you don't have to tell me if you'd rather not). Being a Virgo makes me inquisitive.

Greetings ZSF.
Sorry to have ignored you but these postings don't pop up in my converstion box. And then I've been having trouble composing a reply.
Anyway, thank you for your greeting. I am toying with some sort of media briefing (i.e., an extrapolation of my personal space) ... here is what I have told U197657 (Ancient Brit)
"For record, I have marginally less letters than you, and am not retired. My driving license will expire in 2035. Nor am I Scottish, despite the Black-Watch suit. I was conceived within earshot of the Hampden Roar but born within spitting distance of Old Father Thames."
I'll see what I can do (also will endeavour to fix your missing apostrophe)

No worries, DMT.
I hadn't come across Ancient Brit before. Thanks for the link.
Now your post puts me in mind of a sort of folk song based on the Romeo and Juliet story, the first line of which goes;
Two teams alike in dignity.
At Edinburgh they set our scene;
And Julie's dad was Scotland mad,
While Romeo's followed Phil Bennett's team.
The upshot of it is that they fall in love, marry and set out to raise a British Lions team!
OK it's Scotland and Wales, but you can't have everything!
And no, I didn't think you were retired.

I am embarked on a campaign of covert recolonisation ... I have three children each one born on a different continent.

I'm glad to see your Dad's better by the way.

(the children) Which continents? I have a seven year old, delightful, intelligent, mischievous, who gives the best smiles and the nicest hugs in the world!
Dad went back into hospital the day after coming out, and he's still there. I spoke to him last night and he now sounds much more positive. It's been a bit up and down with him and it has been a very anxious time for me - still is really.
At one point, I told him that although I didn't think it was his time to go, if it was, then he would have our blessing and not to feel guilty about leaving mum behing (we'd discussed it first and mum found that incredibly helpful). It's not easy finding a balance between support and permission to die.

One of the words from a Sufi prayer goes 'May the message of God spread far and wide'; the offspring of Trout are certainly spread far and wide!

In case clarification is needed, the offspring of Trout are actually not spread far and wide, they were just born far apart, gedographically.
These three, and their mother Old Spice, are all within spitting distance of me right now.
