Had to stop by and say hello to a fellow foreigner in Italy!

Hello back! How are you finding life out here in Italia? I'm a lot more settled now and getting to grips with the language (just about!). Kind of tiring of pasta though...

Oh, I know what you mean! I fluttered by a conversation a while ago about potatoes. I've seen WAY too few potatoes lately. Otherwise life in Italy is a blast! And my grip on the language hasn't made the Italians laugh for quite some time now, so I guess I'm doing fairly well.
Have you been in La Bella long? (Me 3 years in August)

3 years? Wow - do you think you'll stay here permanently then? This is my sixth month out here, sadly I'm only here for a year and then I'm back to bonny Britain for my final year. Life out here is pretty amazing though, I was in Venice at the weekend for carnevale - it was incredible!

Venice! Lucky you! I've never had the chance to go there - apart from Tuscany and surroundings, I have only seen Neapel and ugly Milan so far! Oh, and Turin, I almost forgot.
Oh yes, the plan is to stay here, unless we (my Italian hubby and I) decide the grass is greener somewhere else - which it is (lit. speaking), but we're doing fine here for the moment!

So how long have you been out here then? You should definitely go to Venice if you get the chance it is the most gorgeous city. Like another world!

Out here? Scusa! Non ho capito... h2g2? 6 days...
Anyway, one day I shall see Venice! And the plan is to go during the carnevale, but so far it's been just a dream. I happen to be very hard to move when I first have landed someplace.
I walked around in a daze the first year here and played "what's wrong with this picture" with myself. The differences were so just small I couln't quite put my finger on them at first. It was a weird feeling...
And almost the whole country is gorgeous - except Prato...

Oh really? - That's so cool! I've got a friend who's looking to join after she finishes uni. Mind you I think her main incentive was the fit pilots and cheap drinks in the officer's mess!
