On Monday I went to the optician and now finally hacve contact lenses I am very pleased about this as I have wanted them for years but (i) thought they were ultra expensive, and (2) I hate to wear my glasses all day so would not.
Anyhow, at the minute my whole world is amazing! With more 'normal' vision the world is so much more intricate and amazing, I can see all the details in a tree, a city skyline (unfortunately rarely get into the countryside), a garden. I can read car number plates, menus (on boards) at restaurants and pubs, I can actually see peoples faces at a distance. No longer will I happily wave to someone in the street...then when they pass me realise that in fact it is a complete stranger.
Thank f**k for contact lenses
