h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

You've probably seen me on 'Questions Only' (heck, I know you have) and maybe around other places... On here's about the only place I'm not horribly shy, although h2g2 has helped me IRL...

Anyway, I saw what you posted Willem, and thought I'd stop by to say hi and offer a ... And a mufflewhump.

i'm so sorry i didn't see this before. i still don't have the hang of knowing which messages are new in the middle of the page, especially if they all have kind of the same title . i'm sorry to hear you're as shy as i. i poked my nose out of my burrow and am wishing i hadn't.

politics . sheesh. they have them everywhere... and i know better than to get involved. but i also stick up for nice people. so what's a totally conflict-avoidant wallflowergirl supposed to do? it's very intimidating.

It does get easier, I promise... And I tend to avoid conflicts, too, which is why I stay away from the whole LeKZ issue... The way I see it, she was banned before I really got involved, so I try to stay out of it... Which is hard, as I started talking to Silent Lucidity (how I met Willem, actually--I'd known of him, but never talked to him) and, more recently, Quincy... Makes me feel like a coward, sometimes, but I worry enough over my friends without getting drawn into a fight over a finished issue... I can tell that you're a warm and caring person, though, so that probably won't work for you...

But anyway, if you ever need to talk, or want to be pointed in the direction of some non-controversial people/conversations, I'm here a lot.

i just think people ought to be able to give each other the benefit of the doubt. there's doubt. there wasn't in that other case so that's different, i think. if they don't know, just the suspicion of being someone other than who you say you are... i could be osama bin laden... no, really! i could be.

here, what if i put this towel on my head and this fake beard on, and make scratchy video-tapes of me and put voice-overs of him?

Anyway, if you weren't a caring person, you wouldn't get so upset with stuff that goes on... And, unlike IRL, on h2g2 I'm rarely wrong. So there

Sorry if that sounds but it's the oft quoted answer to hose who say they don't watch any tv cos some of the programs are rubbish/filthy/commie !

I know that some of the threads are horrifyingly addictive but take a deep breath and "just say NO"
