Are you really a Goth? cool... I have a deep respect for goths who are real goths and not just saying they're goth to be cool...
peace.

Well, I couldn't really say now that I'm just saying I'm a goth to be cool, could I? Even if it /was/ true.
(In case you didn't follow that... Yes, I am. I just found the way you asked to be funny.)

Depends what you mean. I don't listen to the 'classical' goth stuff - it's a bit before my time. I'm talking about stuff like Souxie and the banshees, and, er, stuff. I'm more into the newer stuff - there's a fairly comprehensive list in the conversation I'm having with Njan... the reply to my first journal entry. Check it out.
Incidentally, I read one of your other conversations where you mentioned that you would like to do something like fencing, but without the protective clothing? Yes?

Might have been a tad bit along the "maybe if I say this they'll think I'm cool" lines... (what can I say... I'm a hypocrite...
peace.

Oh well, I won't hold it against you.
I just thought you might be interested in medievalism, that's all. It's basically just an excuse to hit people with swords and axes and things without protection, and enjoy it greatly.
Thought you might be interested.

I'd probably enjoy it if it weren't for the whole "oh my God, I'mm gonna get hurt!" thing... standing pain is not one of my strong points...
I checked out that thread you had with Njen (is that how you spell it? i can never remember...)... that /was/ a long read...
Have you ever listened to the band Saviour Machine? They're a metal/goth/doomy sort of band... they put out very epic work. Or how about Virgin Black? Simular to Saviour Machine with more emphasis on the Metal part...
peace.

Nope, sorry. I haven't head of either of them. I'll chase them up later, though. One of my friends has just about every piece of metal/goth stuff worth having. He's also a comp.nerd, and has set his computer up to download as many mp3s in a night as it can. All he has to do is plug in some band names, and clear out all the stuff he doesn't want in the morning.

The Theory Posted Jan 8, 2002
hmmm...
I don't know if they have mp3s... I don't think the bands themselves but any up, nor are thay very "popular" (at least here in Amerika, I have no clue what kind of following they have over in thier home country of Germany...)
peace.

It's possible that they're quite big in Germany. Aparrantly the Goth subculture is well-rooted there, and isn't so much of a minority.

I really don't know... but whatever...
music is my life, (after h2g2, I guess), however, I have mostly listened to more "underground" stuff which no one has ever heard of. And I tend to be very diverse... from black metal to bluegrass to (some) classical... mmhmm...
peace.

Heard of Prodigy's 'Music for the jilted Generation'?
It's very /very/ good, and perhaps still my favourite cd - maybe second favourite, after White Zombie's 'Astrocreep 2000'

... I'm sorry... that RZ cd title makes me laugh...
How about Alice Cooper, the originator of shock rock?
peace.

Jerms Posted Jan 8, 2002
I kinda like him, but not enough to actually /own/ any.
Why does that make you laugh? Just 'cause it's a cheesy title?

Oh I don't know... it's just... amusing...
Thier guitarist has a sweet guitar...
peace.

Jerms Posted Jan 8, 2002
Who's guitarist?
The Bassist from White Zombie is sweet.
(I might have to come back to this conversation tomorrow, my network keeps freezing - apologies if I disappear suddenly)

The Theory Posted Jan 8, 2002
gotcha... was talking about RZ's guitar... I saw an ad for it GuitarOne magazine... very smooth...
Just out of curiosity, because they seem to be one of the "bigger" things currently, what do you think of POD?
peace.
Gothism
Jerms Posted Jan 9, 2002
RZ doesn't play guitar?
Did it have a STP sticker on the bottom of (the front of) it, and a pentagram sticker on the top, among lots of other things? If so, then it's the guitarist from White Zombie, not Rob himself.
It might be the guitar that his current guitarist owns; I don't know.
I'm not sure about POD yet - I haven't heard enough of them to know. What I /have/ heard sounds good, though.

Guitarist from then... I was refering to them as a collective...
Trees?
peace.

Jerms Posted Jan 9, 2002
Oh. I see. RZ is different to White Zombie. Same lead singer, but different band. White Zombie is much better, too.
I like trees.
It amuses me that I can post people trees instead of just hugs.
