Lara Croft (Fountain of UFI)

I turned 30 recently. So many women in the world never turn 30 - they remain 29 as long as they can. Precisely the reason I couldn't wait to turn 30 - I refuse to fit someone else's stereotype for me.

Anyway, I'm a single woman with no kids as of yet, and no prospects for either in the near future. I don't think I should have to judge the success and/or failure of my life based on who I marry or what my children grow up to be. I was told by so many people to do everything you want to do before you get married and have the kids, the house, the dog, the car, etc because then you'll be too busy paying bills, putting money away for college and retirement, etc that you won't be able to travel or do things you want to do. So I'm doing that.

Do I want to get married and have kids? Sure I do. But if it doesn't happen this time around, then there's something I need to learn by not getting married and having kids. If it's meant to be, Mr Right will come around eventually (however, Mr Right-Now might not be a bad substitute for a while... smiley - winkeye).

So in honour of my big 3-0h, I received a smiley - gift and some smiley - bubbly from Strider the Eccentric (thanx!). Wasn't that sweet? smiley - smiley
