Hi MoFoLo
I'm just generally catching up on sleep, housework, going outside to enjoy the nature and talking to my husband.
So I haven't been very talkative on h2g2. I've done a bit of thinking about you and your situation, and you are on the top of my list of to-does tomorrow morning. It is 22.22 here right now and I'm soon off to bed with the Da Vinci Mystery
See you

Hi Mo
I've read most of your journals today and will reread our conversation. My, you do tell a good story even though they are about serious matters.
Today I was thinking along the lines that you should write a book about your life and the society around you at all times - a sort of miniature history of American life from the 40es to 2003!

Thank you for the vote of confidence Tartaronne,
BUT, I don't know the difference between syntax and sin tax. I use past and current tenses in the same sentence. Could not tell you what is trasitive or intransitive. Use very little character discriptions. In general couldn't tell you S**t from Shinola. My bosses say they are confused when I write them memos -- that is to say -- they have no idea what I am telling or asking when I E-mail them. Guess I could compete with Stephen King's book "On How to Write" with "How Not to Write a Book". Now that is an interesting thought.
But, for trying.

Maybe you write better when you don't have a set form, or want to live up to what you think are other people's expectations. (the e-mails at work).
You shouldn't put youself down like that. All I've read has been coherent, well written, properly spelled - and with both imagery and dry humour. So there! It is the content that is important. The form - past presence or whatever - a person like me could take care of. A ghostwriter, an editor, a journalist...
What you tell me (and others on hootoo) about yourself and your life is far from the picture we in this country get about USA from films and news.

Okay &lady,
I will see how much time I am willing to spend on a very brief part of my life. I spent a couple of months in Aurora, Illinois back in 1961. Just thinking about it I realized quite a bit happened in that very short time. I will write it out and add it to "my space". We'll see what happens.

Just checking back
For the last couple of days I've mostly read in hootoo. Not making very many comments or serious posts.
One of my Danish friends here likes puns and having fun and don't engage in very many serious discussions, and he is well satisfied with that.
I on the other hand want to know it all . Which is impossible, I know. I have subscribed to many pages and conversations - even to the Alternative Writing Workshop, and there is masses of stuff to read, and a lot of it interesting as well.
But when I'm done reading, my heads spins too much to participate .
Most of the time I feel I have a responsibillity to partake. Peculiar, isn't it.
I'm going to bed now. It's 00.11 here and I've agreed to take my daugther's paper round tomorrow morning. She is at a concert tonight and cannot get home.
Just checking.

tartaronne,
Any news on the job application?
I was looking at a Web site that translates English to Danish and vice versa. I guess anyone can create a Web site.
Translate from English; abundance
Where a bun goes to disco.
Just checking in. Haven't sat down to work on memories, shame on me.
I was thinking of adding the part where I explain in an earlier message to you how we develope our homeless population. I really got upset as I wrote that and realize how unfair we can be to our own citizens.
Denial is bliss, as I have found out by not looking at my bills in about a month.
Hope all is well,

Just letting you know I am alive. I have lots of memories bouncing around in my head and comparison stuff but have been working long hours and weekends due to problems in converting from old accounting software to new software.
Good, Bad or Indifferent, you got me hooked on working on this project. Now it is a matter of finding time.
everyone here doing okay. Hope you and your family are doing well.
What are you working on presently?

Oh and if you are game - could you get a few of the salon people to make a request for a smiley snail. It is driving Shirps to distraction that she can't get the people above to consider one. I think it would be a great addition. If enough people would request a new smiley maybe they would do it.

Hi Mo
Last thing first. For a long time I thought this smiley was a pipe smoking snail - besides I think it is undignified to grovel.
I'm (still) working on my 16 page magazine with a theme about what happens locally with institutions for children and youth who have social and/or behaviorial problems, about the developement for mentally handicapped the last 25 years and stories from the union about the money they get for members who are made redundant improperly, and for members who have had an accident at work (for instance lifting, assaults, threats and other violent actions).
And I have gotten a new very exciting assignment - a whole theme about how a different and more pedagogic outlook on mentally handicapped as equal human beings with resources (as opposed to looking at them as handicapped and ill) have changed their conditions - again the 25th anniversary.
I'm still very interested in reading your memoires, but more important is that your children and grandchildren will need them or at least appreciate them at some stage of their life. Now I would like to know more about my grandparents' history, but alas, they are all dead. My mother knows a bit and maybe I'll get her to write it down. Also her life with my father who died 12 years ago.
The family is well. The youngest preparing for oral examens - they have done the written - and the oldest working on her PhD. Sergio is back to work with mentally handicapped children, at we have got a lot of music jobs during the summer. Soon he will probably release a new CD if he can get a decent contract. Everything is recorded and paid for (by us) - we just need a publisher.
Hope you are doing well and enjoying the spring.
