Hello, I'm Ellen. Welcome to h2g2. I think it's funny that you decorate cakes for a living and your favorite band is Cake! Just a coincidence? I have a friend who worked in a bakery for a few months recently, decorating cakes. She was promoted from doing donuts. Now she's back in Memphis, and I don't know what type of job she's looking for.
So you do some artwork, huh? I do some oil painting from time to time.

Hi Ellen! Thanks for the welcome. The whole "cake" thing is a funny coincidence.
How long have you been with h2g2? So far,I'm lovin' every minute. I can't believe how much there is to read,learn and talk about here. It's great! Painting......mostly acrylics. I'm supposed to be working on an oil painting with a friend of mine. We are going to take turns painting portions of the canvas and see what we end up with. It's been his turn for quite some time now......I can wait. Well,Ellen,it was nice to hear from you. Please keep in touch and have a great day!

I've only been with h2g2 for a few weeks, but I love it. You're right, there are tons of things to read and do.
I read one time that Rembrandt used to take turns working on a painting with his apprentices. Sounds like a cool way to work.
