Eric and Ernie have now been officially named via an update email 
Haven't surveyed yet this week as I have officially got a year older, with attendant hangover. However we had a firecrest recorded on Sunday; I'd logged one before but these things always need a second sighting as backup. In 1984, there were estimated to be about 200-400 individuals in the whole UK, so for us get get one confirmed on the heath is quite a big deal.
Got my sunshine yesterday Went up on Dartmoor for a bit of climbing, and it was bloody lovely. Shame about the rough cider that followed
