Thanks, Mistadrong, but personally I'd better pass on that....you won't believe this:
My cold's gone, but I've got an abcess on that 
tooth I've been having so much trouble with! (Appointment to have the root treatment not 'til 21st Nov.)
So I got an emergency apptmt, he tried to anaesthetise my mouth but it didn't work - he said sometimes the infection interferes with the anaesthetic, so he couldn't do anything to it.
He gave me a course of double-dose antibiotics and I'm pleased to say I feel much better now....though I still have a largish swelling on my face
*carries on eating the soup, very gratefully, as it's all she can manage at the moment*

Perhaps I can help? I have in my handy box a......let me see now;
there's a pair of pliers, a hammer and (masonry) chisel and the good old electric drill. I should be able to do something about it with that lot.
