The question is, if you prefer 'Rob', why the ruddy blibe is you nickname 'Just(e) Bob' and not 'Just(e) Rob'.

One of my best friends at Uni was called Rob. He was immensely easy-going until someone called him Bob, at which point he tended to explode.

I strenuously opposed being called 'Bob' at the start of secondary school, which only makes them more determined, so by the time I left, 'Bob' was as much of an identifier for me as Robert, and certainly more than Rob. There was also the fact that there were several Roberts in my year, so we had to differentiate somehow.
When I got my first e-mail account, I expected to be contacted most often by friends from school, so I gave it a name which would identify me. The name Bob, along with the self-deprication (sp?) of 'Just' (I originally thought of calling it 'Justplainoldbob') pretty much summarised my school persona and reputation.
Since then, I have used that name on the internet everywhere I go, since remembering multiple usernames would get difficult. In the electronic half of my life, I now answer to Just Bob whether I like it or not.

Ah...plum, Bob.
