You will no doubt see an earlier conversation thread with TowelSurfer, who appears to have taken umbrage. I don't know how you feel about the issue of religious intolerance. I was brought up by a very strict Christian Scientist mother who pushed it down my throat. I find Quakers much nicer to deal with.

I am preparing to go on my camping holiday at the moment, so there is a lot to do.

I haven't heard anything from you since you went to the specialist, so I hope that you are all right? I'll try to ring before I leave. It would be nice to come and see you on our return, maybe on 27 August? Would that work for you?

Hi AR1 !

Good for Gnomon (I always think of Bossel pronouncing the 'g' and being put straight about it) - he did really well. How did he do it?

Towelsurfer was writing about Theology and refused to concede that the term could include anything other than Christianity. I disagreed, and he took his ball home - deleted his entry, which was a shame. Couldn't discuss without feeling if I was disagreeing with him, I was somehow disrespecting him. An ego thing.

I'm going to a reiki group tomorrow which is having its first meeting, so that will be interesting. Also it's nearby - only four or five miles away.

It is so sad when religion is so divisive. It should NOT be.

I hope that you enjoyed your reiki meeting today. We have had a busy day. I had a sort of relative come to lunch and I made a super lunch - a quiche with leeks and asparagus, cheese, cream and eggs, and then guinea fowl cooked in apples and cider red cabbage, spinach , pommes de terre, and then ended with pecan pie. Lurveerly!!.

My brother and K. are here and the front door is OPEN. I have called out to them, and still they do not go and do it. I expect tht I shall have to go and shut it.Lazy ****************

I completely agree that religion should not be divisive. That's why I'm a Quaker and I do think it's a great shame when people think that their way is the *only* way. Well, I don't mind them doing that as long as they don't try to shove it down my throat.

Yes, we had a lovely day yesterday. Little came too, and seemed to really enjoy himself. The couple whose house it was held in had a really *big* computer - the man works with his computer editing films, so it's used for design work. Little was in his element, being able to draw things on a pad and see it come up on the screen.

He hopped on the reiki table demanding first treatment. He got a little. It was lovely at the practice group as we all had a session where we received treatment from all the others at once. Little has a slightly longer treatment at the end. The adults all said how nice it was to have a child to do, who has so few blocks and hotspots.

Have you any plans for bonfire night?

Of course they did not close the door!
I went and did it - without grumbling as well so I was very pleased with myself.

Can you suggest a way in which K. does not lose front door keys? I am sure that there must be a deep psychological reason for it. But as often as I give him a key, literally within the hour he "loses" it. He must have so many in his houe. But nothing works.

We actually had a lovely day yesterday. My father's cousin wife was really so kind and also she got on very well with K. Towards the end of the day he was telling her things which had happened literally thirty years before and of which he had never spoken. She obviously had a very good rapport with him.

She brought me the tribute which their son wrote about his father. It was absolutely beautiful. I must say if any of my children would write a tribute like that I would be so honoured.

the sun is shining I see. the bath lady ic coming at 11 a.m It really is so inconvenient as I really do not feel free to do anything until then, and I dislike lolling around in my nightie for all that time. The excuse the agency give is that the other people that have to have care are "bedridden", "have no friends", "have hospital appointments," "have to go to a day centre". All of these are completely valid arguments so I cannot moan. As this same agency has been caring for me for four years you would think that I would have ridden a little bit in the caring ladder"" . I must phone my care manager. It seems that when one is in the social services it is better to be totally dependent and instead of trying to be cheerful and not complaining!!.Oh well!!.

Well my , so glad that little was a good model. I bet he loved having everyone fussing over him and caring for him

This is a quick reply as I'm just going out of the door - on my way to see Stephen Turoff.

As a child, I had a key on a piece of string round my neck. Perhaps if he were to have a nice silver chain - would that work? Or one attached to his wrist?

Let me know how the key on a chain idea works.

The psychic surgeon was interesting. His surgery is in a little building behind a hotel in Chelmsford. Merlin came with me. I may have told you, he went to see him to sort out his hip, which was giving him a great deal of pain. His experience was that he was in as much pain if not a little more for a couple of days, then the pain subsided and it's been a lot better (although not perfectly right) ever since.

The surgery had a big altar in the waiting room, dedicated to Sai Baba, with pictures of saints and holy people, like Mother Meera and Ramana Maharshi (Merlin's favourite guru), plus offerings. There were also little gifts and offerings around. On the pictures round the room and on a seat was a kind of ash, called vibuti (not sure of the spelling).

Stephen Turoff's staff refer to him as 'Mr Turoff'. I was shown into the waiting room and waited for a short time. A large Asian family went in as a block, then a woman. then me. I thought Merlin was going to come in with me, but he thought he wasn't allowed, so stayed outside.

The assistant asked me what the problem was, and I told her about my knee. She asked me to take my coat off and my shoes and to roll up my trousers to expose the knee. This I did. Then I climbed on to an adjusting bed, which was lowered and the back raised, so that I was semi-recumbent. Then Mr Turoff came in and I explained what the problem was. H put his hand over my knee and I felt a lot of heat. His other hand had a metal implement in it. I felt fluid drip from my knee and a lot of squelching and crunching. He asked me a couple of questions about what I did and if I had any hobbies and I told him. Then he said he'd like to see me in a month's time and to be careful as he had done some work in my knee. I was very conscious of the knee all the way home, and remembered that when I was 12, I had had a skiing accident in which I twisted my knee.

We'll see if I get a better night's sleep tonight, or in a couple of night's time.
