Hi Mr. Ancient Brit!
You must also have reached my great age if you know that one of the perks is that one no longer pays for a TV licence!!
I am sorry that you missed my wonderful birthday party. In fact we continued it this weekend thanks to some dear friends.
I am now on the last quartile of my life. I feel, strangely enough, full of joy, happiness and enthusiasm. I cannot think why except that there is an added urgency to do the things that I somehow have not managed to do and have always wanted to do. Like going to the South Pole. Is that feasible.? I rather think not!. Going around the world by ship - only if I win the lottery - learning how to scuba dive. Really I think I should set myself more achievable goals dont you think. I am now going to your homepage to see who you are - and possibly if we share similar interests. apart from getting old rather eccentrically! Oh, but perhaps you are a very correct person and are getting old in a perfectly acceptable manner!!.
Regards
AR1

Sorry to have taken so long to come back but I suppose that at our age 2 weeks between posts is quite acceptable. Please drop the Mr. I go as AB most of the time. Glad you enjoyed your party, I didn't go on the Pub Crawl until it was over so unfortunately I missed it. With no disrespect intended you are the oldest researcher that I have come across on h2g2. Tommy Mac ( U216022 ) of BotF/WW2 fame stands proudly at 73. Read F111306?thread=246247 it tells a little about us. My interests in life are pretty normal. My wife and family come first and from there on I enjoy golf and my computer. I have had a quick look at your space and gather that you were with h2g2 before recently rejoining, it is a most fascinating place isn't it ? It has everything that a computer hobiest needs and I must confess that I get as much from lurking around as I do from contributing.
You imply that you are going to leave h2g2 again because you are going to South Africa, surely you can stay with h2g2 wherever you roam ?
See you around.
