Ku'Reshtin (Bring the beat back!)

Sorry about the links not working properly on that other page (the one that looks mildly structured). I've lost my password to get into that account to do any changes to the page, and I'm too lazy to contact the Towers to get the PW back to do anything about it, so for the moment, it'll have to stay as it is.
To be honest, I don't know that much about the actual programming and I've only had some basic training in C and some in Visual Basic, but that's pretty much it.
I actually started out in health care, working in a retirement home for about a year and a half after school before even remotely thinking about doing anything with computers. Of course, I liked computers and played around a bit with them, but never anything serious. I got into my current job more or less on an impulse, as I described it on my other page. It was basically just a matter of me being absolutely bored out of my mind at the job I was doing at the time, and needed a change. So I decided to move countries, start a new job that I knew nothing about, and after that, I've never really regretted the move.
Of course, my family wasn't that surprised with me moving ona whim like that, as I'd done it before when I decided to move 1.000 miles north to go to a course that I could take a mere 30 miles from home had I really wanted it. That left me up at the Arctic Circle for a year, and after that, I don't think anything I decide on doing really freaks my folks out. I went to the US for three weeks on my own, having decided on meeting a bunch of online pals, and I had only booked four nights of those three weeks at a hotel and relied on my friends for shelter at other times. So, I've done my funky stuff in life, even though I'm actually a pretty laid back type of guy.smiley - smiley

Hi LIS smiley - smiley I have been looking for your reply and never thought that such a heading would be it. I am glad that I found it. I am fascinated that you went to the Artic Circle for a year. I have a young great neice who has just written me a letter seeking sponsorship for a 6 week exploration trip that she is doing in July to the Artic Circle. I do think that the young are incredibly lucky. You are also very sensible to have done all your travelling young. I had three children by the time I was twenty-thre!! I loved them but I was too young and we were SOOOO impecunious(too proud to say poor!!) that I had to work. So that was when I decided to teach swimming so that I could take them with me. I do not think that my programming was anything wonderful. It was just that dBase3 was such a wonderful tool, and if one could distinguish between logical statements and others then it was easy to do. I have tried to do the new dbase7 and whether it is because I am that much older or what I cannot even begin to get something sensible. Well I must go and get myself ready to face the day. Kind regards. AR1 the Venerable but mobile smiley - schooloffish
