I have lost track of all the rules and regulations here, but I am sure there must be a law about advertising. So I won't. I will perhaps, though, at the risk of being zapped and exterminated, mention that I have put a collection of my stories together in an ebook entitle Mr. P (and George) . You can find it, should you wish to, on a website named for a long river in South America, in the kindle section. A search for Pheroneous should find it. It would cost you a dollar ( I need a dollar, dollar, a dollar is what I need. That sort of dollar) or its equivalent in real money. Of course you could read them all here, in their raw state, but all polished and shiny is so very much better. Go on, make me rich. Thank you. End of advertisement.

Kate McGarrigle
Posted Jan 29, 2010
I just wanted to put a note here to mark the passing of Kate McGarrigle. It is only in the last five years or so that I have been really listening to the music she made with her sister, although they were always in the background - the LP you were always going to buy but never did. Anyway, as I say, I have caught up and enjoy tremendously their harmonies, their originality and their humour. I caught a glimpse of her on TV recently, with her son Rufus Wainwright at his project in Manchester and she was just as I expected. Bright, cheerful and supportive of her wayward child. Sorry to hear that she is gone.

A diagnosis or an aspiration?
In my previous incarnation here I used this phrase in an incomplete entry called 'Charm', which I have fished out of the flea market and am currently (slowly) re-writing. I don't remember where it came from, except that I thought I picked it up here on h2g2. I have to delete it from the entry as it no longer serves the purpose, but like the phrase so much that I am putting it here to preserve it until someone can tell me where it comes from or I can use it elsewhere. I have googled away but found no origin, neither as written or in reverse.

The CRAFT club
Posted Oct 17, 2009
I came across a new acronym today, CRAFT. Those of us inclined to "senior moments" have a new club to join. It was in a respectable newspaper so I suppose I can write it here! "Can't Remember A Flipping Thing". Perhaps we should have a club here, except, of course, everyone would forget where it was!
(Flipping is not the right word!)

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
