Zarquon's Singing Fish! Started conversation Dec 8, 2001
OK, I'm a little puzzled. Here you have a really whizzy and well constructed site, but no smileys?
Have a look at http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/Smiley. You can make your site even more friendly.

Cool nickname... I would have never thought up something that cool and... off beat.
I choose not to use smileys... I know a good many of them, and if I am in a situation where I have to use something of the sort I will do, like, , but they, (at least the "true" smileys) remind me of the sidekick to a chain store in America that I hate. So I always get a mental picture of that store when they're used. Plus I tend to think that smileys are often overused. So between all of that, I decided, just to completely skip the whole thing.
I don't really mind when other people use them though, I just don't want my posts/page to look like that.
peace.

Oh, the nickname's a direct quite from Zaphod Beeblebrox (on the planet Brontitaur if I'm not mistaken). The full quote was 'Holy Zarquon's Singing Fish!', but I thought a nickname starting with a 'z' was cooler.
You should pop round to see Tonsil Revenge. He shares your outlook on smileys.

*wonders* is "Zarquon's Singing Fish! (ACE) (Scout) Minister for Rigidly Defined Areas of Doubt and Uncertainty" still awake?
Seriously though... that wasn't the reason...
peace.
