Richard Pipes
Posted Nov 12, 2001
I was in a bookshop the other day. I won't mention any names but let's just say it was Hammicks bookshop.
Anyway I made a beeline for the 'current affairs' section, another phrase for politics used because politics isn't working. And what did I come to see? That's right, you've guessed it...
...A book about communism, whose author was named Richard Pipes. Now I'm fairly worried that I've been sleep writing again. Not only that, I may have been sleep editing and sleep publishing. All very perplexing.
Of course there is the slight chance that it might not be me, you say? Yeah, whatever.

Assessments
Posted Nov 2, 2001
I just had my first properly marked assessment at university. I feel like I'm being drawn into the system and there is no escape. Now I have to prepare a ten minute presentation for monday and a Telematic Performance to be shown on the same day. So much work. Can't they just pump the knowledge into my brains as old science fiction films promised would happen in the twenty-first century?

The great thing about skateboarders
Posted Nov 1, 2001
I was walking along a path while a kid, about 11 or 12 years old, was ambling towards me. Spying a slight decline in the pavement the kid suddenly reached behind his back, pulled a skateboard from his bag and set it down on the floor. With a distinct air of excitement he jumped on to the board and majestically pushed off... straight into the wall.
The great thing about skateboarders? Them looking stoopid.
