... und willkommen in h2g2.

I think I'd better not persist further with attempts at German. smiley - biggrin

I'm one of the <./>ACEs</.> (Assistant Community Editors) which is a team of volunteers who try to make sure all researchers can find their way round h2g2. You seem to have been overlooked before. Sorry about that but perhaps I can make amends. smiley - erm

One thing h2g2 has a lot of, as well as researchers, is these little pictures called <./>Smileys</.>. Click on the link I just made with that word to see them all. You can use them in your personal space and other article entries, conversations and journal posts. Simply type the shortcut text and they appear as if by magic. Perhaps this is one to suit you: < artist > without spaces becomes smiley - artist. You can always check out the <./>GuideML-Picturelibrary</.> for larger images (though these can't be used in conversations).

Above all, have fun and don't panic. If you do find yourself tempted to panic, click the "h2g2 Help" link on the left. It may help. smiley - winkeye

Since you seem to be busy with real life for now I'll get on with other things, but I'll be back if you call for help (ie reply to this message or post on my space). smiley - run

Well this reply comes very late, but I would like to thank you for your advices. Unfortunately I was 'out of order' for the last months, because the german air force took me to make a soldier of me. I think it did not work properly but it wasted time in any way.

I hope I can fullfil my tasks of a h2g2.com researcher and I hope you will have a nice and lovely day smiley - biggrin

Greetings

Oh no, not Private Benjamin perchance?! If you've seen the film you'll know how that didn't quite work properly. smiley - biggrin

The tasks of an h2g2 researcher aren't exactly defined but if you manage to work out or make up what you think they are then precedent suggests you can try to fulfil that instead of whatever they were claimed to be. Being 'out of order' somewhere would seem to be in keeping with h2g2. If you can find a sign saying "beware of the leopard" that would be even more convincing.
