Hey Jane
Sorry I've been out of touch for such a long time but I've been busy traveling here, there and everywhere. I showed my friend Graham round the UK - a hectic two weeks! - and now he's showing me a little of the US. We spent a few days in NYC, which I loved, it's such a cool city. Now we're in Knoxville staying with some friends of his living on University campus so that he can sort out a few things for next academic year and can say 'hi' to his friends here at University of Tennessee (apparently it's de rigeur to shout 'Go Vols!' at this point ). After this we're going to hang out in Miami for a few days over the weekend and then hopefully go to New Orleans! Should be fun. Graham wants to show me a 'real beach' (according to him a 'real beach' requires lots of sun, something which is usually absent at British beaches ) and I've always wanted to check out Louisiana, plus Graham's never been there yet either. So I'm enjoying America. Hope things are fine with you - get in touch again soon!
Liz

hi there
glad your travels are going well and you're enjoying your visit over here. i don't think i've ever been to new york since i don't really have any connections in that region, i seem to have stayed away from the coasts. i'll get around to it eventually.
i'm sure you'll find new orleans interesting, i certainly do, on the rare occasions i get out into it anyway. i always advise people to go on the vampire tour they have in the french quarter. they have ghost tours and cemetary tours too, i consider that a legitimate way of learning about the history and culture. the weather's excellent at the moment, spring is the best time to be in new orleans, i suppose that goes for anywhere near the equator.
haven't got too much interesting to report.. at this point i'm pretty much trying to ride out the semester and keep on top of things. as for this history assignment, 100 pages left to read, hopefully i can get through most of it tonight. blah blah. i need more !
