Welcome to h2g2 - I LOVE your intro - you write very well for your age (not being condescending - it just seems to me that written expression is not a priority among your generationsmiley - winkeye ) BTW - I too, like Heinlein but feel that he is a little dated (but still a great writer) Have you read his Stranger In A Strange Land, or the Lazarus Long series??

My name is Feisor and I too am an ACE (Assistant Community Editor) here at h2g2. (There are lots os us smiley - biggrin )

Flembard

Thanks Feisor!

I'll be sure to check out the links you've given me. Also thanks for the comment on my intro - I'm glad you liked it (I was a bit worried about the length, I didn't mean it to be that long when I started)! I'm sure that I'll enjoy being here immensely.

I haven't read any Heinlein besides ST, although I'm planning to investigate Stranger in a Strange Land. I sought out ST to read first because it was in the bibliography of a set of wargames rules... smiley - smiley

I'll try to remember not to panic!

You'll enjoy Stranger smiley - biggrin The Lazarus Long series concentrates a lot on time travel and time paradox - it was among the last series he wrote - very interesting but obviously written by an old man who lived in a different time.

Enjoy yourself here and let me know if you need any help smiley - cheers

Whoami - iD dislikes punctuation

Hi there. I just thought that I'd pop in to say hello to my friend Flembard, who I have known for ages. I am just a few months older than him. I also came here to show off my badge collection (see http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/U177581 ) and to say that all is well. Nice to know that my partial absence (ie slower, less frequently-used Internet access during the holidays hasn't had too much effect on things. Feisor, thanks for the warm welcome you have given. Flembard is a great character, not *quite* as nerdy as he makes himself sound, and in time may even be ACE material. I know I wouldn't usually make assumptions, but Methos is an ACE now, and I always knew she would be. And I didn't know her. For now, Flembard, just settle in, make yourself feel at home, and search on 'Printable smileys'. Print them out and use them like a little conversational Bible.
