Insomnia

No, not that all night cafe/bar in Glasgow! My current state of mind smiley - erm

Maybe it's all the sleeping I've been doing this week down to this bloody cold, but I've had enough of WoW for one day/night and cannot wind down to go to sleep. I migh just do my usual insomnia trick of staying away with gallons of coffee or hit my head really hard off the wall and knock myself out.

It's also funny how I seem to be at my most creative when I'm not able to sleep; does anyone else get like that?

C***, Falkirk; it'll get there, you can be certain of that...

My car got lifted today because it was illegally parked. In a car park. smiley - steam

My local train station is always heaving with cars in the morning, so much so that people even park on grass verges and the pavement itself. A bit extreme, but nothing much you can do about it as the council seriously underestimated the amount of spaces us commuters need in the new car park, which backs onto a new housing scheme.

Now, I've had to park kerbside and what have you in the past because of there being no spaces left or some numpty in a 4 x 4 that's never been off road in its life is taking up two spaces, but this morning even the extreme option of parking on the pavement just wasn't going to happen. So I parked beside this Clio which was in front of a dirt track.

A track I thought was just a leftover passage from the estate's construction as there is a proper road to the houses.

How wrong I was.

I get an email from EV when he gets in from work saying that there's a card in the door from the police. Turns out there's a sign next to this dirt track saying No Parking - this road is for emergency vehicles only. OK, so I didn't see the sign. One, it was pitch dark when I got to the station and two, it's just a little sign stuck to a wall. However, because I used the entrance to the dirt track to park in an overflowing car park (and bear in mind there is a proper road into this estate) I was parked illegally and had to pay £150 for the 'privilege' of getting my car back.

Congratulations to Central Scotland Police for once more not giving a damn when I phone up to ask what's going on. I thought you at least got a warning if you were illegally parked before taking your car away? But the police officer I spoke to was extremely rude and I felt like asking him if he spoke to his dog the way he spoke to me, but I'll just send in a letter of complaint. One of many it seems, judging by the comments of the staff in the vehicle compound.

Why are we motorists so hard done by?

Go on, boost my ego further!

Nicked from Milla and Serephina:

1) have we met?
2) if so when and where?
3) the first thing you remember about me?
4) do we keep in touch? would you like to see more of each other? (or have the chance to meet?)
5) would you consider me an internet aquaintance, internet friend, buddy, friend, good/close friend, best friend, family, lover or not a 'friend' at all?

You'll have to try harder than that...

...to get rid of me an'all! But I fully support EV in his decision, although it does sadden me that he's left h2g2 - however, I do have to put up with him every day so I'm not as badly affected as you lot smiley - tongueout

The Sub badge has gone and I don't think I'll be writing any more entries for h2g2, but if things change I may change my mind...
