fords - number 1 all over heaven Started conversation Jul 12, 2004
Me (to the ned up the back of the no. 3 bus): Can you stop shutting the windows and put your joint out please?
Ned: I'm not doing anything!
Me: I know what hash smells like. Put it out, will you? I'm two months pregnant and don't want to be breathing that crap.
Ned: I'm not doing anything.
(Ned shuts windows again and lights up. Me and the bloke sitting in front of me open the windows. Ned shuts them again.)
Me: Are you stupid or something? Put it out!
Ned: I'm not doing anything, leave me alone!
Me: Did you go to school? Don't you understand plain English? Put the f*****g joint out! I don't want to be breathing that crap in!
(This went on for a bit as neds are terminally stupid. I turn round, he lights up again. I turn round to face him, he pretends he's not doing anything.)
Me: Right, I've had enough of this. One last chance you stupid b*****d. Are you going to put that out or not?
Ned: F**k you, I'm going to kick your f*****g head in. You and your baby, you slag.
So, I go downstairs to complain to the driver. To my surprise, he actually stops the bus at the next bus stop when the bloke's mate's getting off. He shouts to him that they're waiting on the coppers for him when he comes downstairs, lit joint in hand.
Driver: That him then?
As I confirm, he presses the emergency door open and escapes, throwing the fingers up (how mature). The driver offered to get the cops as he could have kept him on the bus, but I declined. What's the point? Like the police are going to bother with a ned threatening a pregnant woman when they have evil criminals like motorists to catch? So I left it at that, but not without half the bus offering to be my witness and the bloke who was sitting in front of me coming downstairs to see if I was alright.
Neds, eh?

Yeah, I was a bit shaken, although my gut feeling was that he's not going to do anything, he's a coward. And I was right. But still, I'm glad he got off the bus before me!

I might have gotten the police too, but I didn't want to keep all the other passengers back as it was a busy bus!
